THE
FIBROSEAL SYSTEM
DESIGNED TO CLEAN,
RESTORE AND PROTECT ASBESTOS ROOFS
Fibroseal is a complete roof restoration system which was
developed specifically to resolve New Zealand safety issues, where
asbestos has been used for roofing and cladding. Many “Super
six” style installations have a heavy moss or lichen
build up and in original uncoated condition, are prone to
shedding Asbestos fibres. Most of these facilities, are in
industrial environments or near the coast.
They have excellent corrosion resistance, can be in sound
condition, with potentially decades of service life remaining.
Few products would have lasted as long with no maintenance.

Fibroseal is a system developed by the Goldseal Group who
have a been involved in the production of specialist coatings
in New Zealand for 30 years.
Different divisions have dedicated applicators operating
in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands applying
our coatings to:
- Roofing and Cladding
- Internal and external steel structures in harsh environments
such as Galvanizing Plants, Woolscours, Fertiliser stores,
Tanneries and void spaces in Marine Craft.
- Automotive and Commercial Fleet corrosion protection.
Safety first
Our application policy complies with New Zealand safety standards
in both biodegradeable product and OSH regulations for application.
We pride ourselves on our ability to mesh with clients requirements
ensuring minimum risk and disturbance to work flow and personnel
requirements.
Scope of projects
The Goldseal Group have applicators throughout New Zealand
working with companies and home
owners. We provide comprehensive roof inspections and quotations
free of charge. Budget periods can be spanned between moss
kill and sealing.

Commercial applications to asbestos
Often “Supersix “ type profiles have
been used on very large buildings, making replacement and
disposal a mammoth task, at huge cost. The Fibroseal System
has been developed specifically to comply with New Zealand’s
regulations to restore, seal and protect these buildings and
those who work in them.
The benefits
- Properly sealed there is no need to replace an existing
durable roof.
- The Fibroseal System system is approximately 25% the
cost of re-roofing.
- Fibroseal soaks into and fills a lot of the coarse texture
sealing the surface. This reduces dirt build up and organic
growth.
- Maintenance trades often need to access roof areas, air
conditioning towers, or vents. Untreated Supersix is very
slippery to walk on in wet weather.
- No re-roofing means there is no factory downtime or internal
exposure to weather
- The results are functional providing a sound base for
programmed maintenance and the clean, more modern look enhances
the aesthetics and value of the building.
The procedure
- Inspection and mapping of maintenance requirements
- Application of Moss Kill by flood coat followed by a
3-4 month kill and wash off period, depending on rain intensity.
- Where roofing or cladding are to be left natural, a
second Moss Kill can improve evenness in colour, however
moss will regrow with time.
- Application of either Fibroseal AB which produces a Silver
sealed surface or sealer and decorative finish coat, locks
in asbestos fibres and enhances aesthetics
- Bi-annual maintenance inspections can be arranged.
- An inhouse colour consultant is available for corporate
colour schemes.
Fibroseal can be applied as a single coat silver sealer,
or over coated with a decorative acrylic for a more even or
coloured result.
